Our Staff
Bobby Hosmer is the Owner and Manager of Springs Aviation. I've had a love of anything that has to do with airplanes since I was a kid, but thought becoming a pilot was a luxury that would probably be out of reach. Then a Christmas gift of a Discovery Flight reignited that passion and set me on course to fly again. I began flying in Florida shortly after that and had the fun privilege of my son being my instructor. I believe flying can, and should be, a safe, fun, affordable adventure. My goal is to make Springs Aviation your school of choice for learning to fly! Steve Sunkel is our Director of Maintenance. He is also a flight instructor and a licensed skydiver. While working at Cessna for three years, he was a Quality Engineer and Production Flight Test Pilot. After that, he gained experience as a Tech Rep for Lycoming Engines at the Cessna Factory. He's been flying since 1991 and has been a certified mechanic since 1996. In his free time, Steve enjoys restoring older cars and taking care of his two year old daughter, Isabelle. His wife Jami teaches seventh grade Science at James Irwin Charter School and is an antique car fanatic. He performs all the maintenance for the aircraft, completes 50 and 100 hour inspections, repairs squawks and is constantly improving the quality of the fleet. If you have any questions about the airplane at all, he'd be more than happy to help you.
Rebecca Pestovich is the Marketing and Office Manager. A graduate from Colorado State University-Pueblo with a B.A. in Art and a minor in Psychology, she uses her skills to help sell the business. You can find her flyers and brochures at the local colleges, airports, and information centers. In her free time, Becca loves to create art, go snowboarding and spend time with friends and family. She is interested in learning to fly and plans to get her Private Pilot’s License one day. If you have any questions or want to schedule a flight, she is the one to ask.
Pierre "Hot Dog" Pestovich is our ferocious mascot and security at Springs Aviation. He is a Dachshund and was born on August 2, 2008. Sporting his bomber jacket, Pierre fits right in with the aviation crowd. Full of energy and happiness, he gladly greets you as you enter the door, welcoming you to our home.
